A downloadable game

Action RPG focused in hard battles and exploration. Inspired by Dark Souls and Legend of Zelda.

The stroy takes place in an old stronghold, at the last days of a great battle. You died, but your will was stronger than your body, so you woke up again, to continue the siege in a never ending night.

Remembering little more than your purpose, you'll have to leave the dungeons, advance through the stronghold's outskirts, and reach the most high tower. To find  the Heir and end your curse.

I would love to let you know your game was so good that it made it for this list, keep it up, I am follwoing closely what this game has to offer more!

Thank you for the game, it was pretty fun ^-^

I found a bug worth noting:

If you press and hold W + A won't let you jump, but it will if you do W + D instead, and the contrary happens with the arrow keys, pressing Up + Left let you jump but Up + Right doesn't.

Hi, thank you for playing :)

So then you can't jump in diagonal? That's a major bug, it never happened to me. Are you playing in windows 10?

Yes, Windows 10, playing on keyboard. Yeah, it won't let me jump, although I could complete the tutorial but yep it is a pretty big deal.

Demo is pretty nice, gameplay is fun and I have hardly found any problems. I'll say though that the English seems a bit broken at times. I mean I know it doesn't matter but it's a pet peeve of mine haha. Keep up the good work. ^-^

Hey, thank you for playing! I'm glad you liked it!

And don't worry, I'm with you, a bad grammar really breaks the atmosphere. I know my english is not very good so when I finish with all the texts of the game I'll send them to a person for a proper revision.

I just tried the demo.  Game is pretty neat.  I like the aesthetic.  Controls could be a little more responsive.  There were many times where I would push dodge or attack with plenty of stamina and nothing would happen.  Other than that, the game played well.  I enjoyed the demo.

Hi! Thank you for playing and commenting! That's weird, I've never felt the controls not responding, I'll see what I can do. Did you use keyboard and mouse or gamepad?

I follow you here from Kickstarter. Honestly, I am not very good at this type of game (I failed horribly at Dark Soul T^T) But love the pixel artwork and the gameplay looks great and so smooth. Do you also do all the graphic yourself? O.o amazing work.

Will come back to give an update after I finished the demo :)

Nice to meet you.

Hey, nice to meet you too! Thank you so much for the support.

There are difficulty options to adjust the game, you can lower the difficulty if you are not a fan of punishing games. I did everything except the music, so thank you, I think you are the first one who likes my art style haha! It's not the best but I'm working to improve it.

I'll be here if you have any thoughts about the demo, I'm open to any kind of criticism.

Have a nice day!

Hello and thank you for the reply. I really love the graphic you did I’m surprised no one has told me before. It’s clean and unique. Hope to see you release some assets fir purchase in the future. I will be sure to get them! I have my day off coming up soon so I will do my best to not fail too horribly on the demo hehe! I will let you know how my noob-ness goes (>_<)

Thanks to you for commenting! I do a lot of pixel art practice, so I coul try releasing some free assets in twitter to see if people find them useful. Are you also making a game? What would you be interested in?

Hello. First of all congrat on the Kickstarter campaign.

I am very new to game development actually still a baby learning the basic but so far it has been very enjoyable and enlightening. My friend and I are putting some ideas together. If you don’t mind maybe I can let you check it and hear your opinion in the future. (^_^)

I’m working on the rpg-fantasy type of game. Looking to have assets of buildings and interior type.

>>sorry, English isn’t my first language.

Thank you! English is not my first language either.

I'd love to play your game. Let me know when you have it ready and you need testers. Which program are you using?

Is this game still available to play?

Hi! No, there's not a playable demo at this moment.

Okay mate, let us know when! Had this one on my list for a while after seeing it on Shaun’s livestream a little while back 🙂

Sup man! i really like your game, i played it after shaun's livestream. I'm trying game dev myself too, just starting tho.

About the game. I played until the point of the owl saying something about shorcuts, then i went to the spawn point to refill the waterglass and restore health and then i was so tired of dying that i stoped playing, i will play a bit more later. Maybe your point was to make a darksouly game and thats why is so difficult? I couldnt get the hang of the dodging. Also i never knew when the "will-less" would atack, maybe add an aura will help? like the sprite emmiting a red aura when its about to atack, idk... i don think i advanced much in the game.
Also, at the pont  when the owl told me that i could use the dodge to jump over pits to cross them i smashed the barrels that were next to it and ended in a place with a rock golem that basically one-shoted me...maybe I shouldn't have gone there, should i? but i could... so i did xD

Anyway, great game. I will continue playing it. Godspeed.

Hey!

I've added a short animation before attacking for the will-less guys now and also they make a little stop. I don't know if this will be enough though, because it's not just you, nobody gets the dodges. So it's a problem of the game. I'll have to explain it better or change the mechanic.

The place with the rock golem is a secondary path and it just leads to an item. You can even avoid fighting the golem.

Thank you for playing and giving feedback! It's been really helpful!

(1 edit)

Yup now the dodging is more achieveable.

Well, i continued playing the game, it took time but i managed to get the item on the secondary path that you mentioned (which was a really useful later), the red hooded will-less are tricky because i still dont know very well the reach in their attacks, but surviving them took less time that surviving the fights with the regular will-less before  you added the short animation in their atacks.

It took me a lot of time to realize that there was a path near the first shortcut that i mentioned previously, it's unclear what's a path and whats a wall, once i realized it the rest of the paths in next parts of the map were easier to find, but it wasn't intuitive at first.
The drop rate in red seeds and only having only one save point so far is vexing, but that level of difficulty is still enyoyable.
So far i unlocked Q and reached the part in the map with the moving plataforms.

Still enjoying the game! Godspeed

Yeah I see how that might be unclear, I'll try to do something about it.

I didn't want to give more healings to force to go back to the fountain and save the game. So I had in mind to make an item to go fast to the fountain and come back where you were. Or maybe something that gives you one oportunity to die and not lose your progress.

The part of the moving platforms might be a little long and annoying. And after that there's a boss, that might be a little op. So that part is very subject to change

Hey there, i played your game, i died so many times cause i couldnt get the hang of the dodging but all in all, its such a fun game and i love the artstyle aswell, keep up the great work! <3

Hey! Thank you so much for playing! It helps me a lot to see someone playing it.

I'm gonna try making the early game more intuitive and get rid of the enemies who respawn.
